Today (9:00 am), the Frankenthal District Court is set to make a judgment against a 24-year-old defendant. Originally, he was charged with attempted murder. The repeat offender stands accused of causing an accident on the A65 near Mutterstadt (Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis) in May 2023 during a conflict with his former partner. It's claimed he purposefully sped up his car and slammed into the one in front of him.

The prosecution demanded a prison sentence of four years and four months in their closing statement. In contrast, the defense asked for a probation sentence lasting two years.
