- Excavator man seriously injured
A 51-year-old man was struck by a backhoe bucket and severely injured in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries. As the police reported, he and a 58-year-old were working on a school playground in Oberndorf am Lech on Friday.
According to the report, the 58-year-old accidentally dislodged the roof panel of a bread oven hut using the arm of the small backhoe. To straighten the panel, he leaned out of the cab and got caught on a gearshift. The backhoe arm then swung out and the bucket hit the 51-year-old in the hip. The man was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
The accident involving the backhoe bucket led to severe injuries for the 51-year-old man. unfortunate incidents like these highlight the need for strict safety protocols during construction work.
