Excavator and truck burn at construction site: 300,000 euros damage
Around 300,000 euros worth of damage was caused by a fire involving two vehicles at a construction site in Munich. An excavator and a truck burnt out completely early on Friday morning, according to the police. No one was injured in the fire.
Arson cannot be ruled out at present, a police spokesman said on Friday. Particularly as there were two vehicles involved, investigations must also be carried out in this direction.
The police were also investigating a possible connection to the suspected arson attack on a geothermal construction site in October. The Munich Public Prosecutor General's Office was investigating this on suspicion of extremism, among other things. This suspicion could also not be ruled out in the case of the fire on Friday.
Despite the ongoing investigation into potential arson, the fires at the construction site in Upper Bavaria's Munich have caused significant damage, estimated at around 300,000 euros. The excavator and truck, which were completely engulfed, were vital components of the construction project.
