Football: Global Popularity of Soccer - Examining entries at Luxembourg and Belgium borders prior to European Championships.

Before the UEFA European Championship kicks off, German authorities plan to conduct border controls in the Trier region. Started by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, these checks aim to discover violent soccer fans and politically radical extremists during entry. Focusing on the border with Luxembourg and Belgium, mobile and temporary stationary border controls will be implemented. On Friday, a mobile control was conducted on the A64. Outside of these designated areas, intensified checks are currently happening at the Hahn Airport in Hunsrück. These measures, planned until July 19, will help prevent traffic jams while considering the needs of local commuters. The UEFA European Championship begins on June 14.
