Ex-HSV pros at Kiel win: "Different desire for such a game"
The duel with Hamburger SV was a very special match for several professionals from second-division soccer team Holstein Kiel. In Fiete Arp, Lewis Holtby and goalscorer Finn Porath, three former HSV players were on the pitch for the 4:2 (1:0) win on Saturday. In addition, assistant coaches Dirk Bremser and Alexander Hahn have a HSV past. That's why "we might be a bit more fired up than the others during the week," said Porath.
The 26-year-old had scored the goal that made it 3:2 in the meantime and refrained from celebrating. "I'm still very attached to the club," said Porath. "I wanted to show a bit of respect." Holtby played a part in the goal, with Arp providing the assist. The 23-year-old was satisfied after the game: "I think we can pat ourselves on the back today for having played a really great game."
Playing against HSV was "of course a different feeling for the striker. In a way, it's also a different kind of nervousness, but also a different kind of desire for a game like this," said Arp. With 37 sprints, the former HSV jewel had completed the most sprints of any player. "Everyone at the back could have run for another 20 minutes," said Arp. "We were really up for it. When HSV come, I think I speak for every second division team, it's something special."
Porath, being a former HSV player, expressed a unique desire for the match against HSV in Bundesliga 2, as his team, Holstein Kiel, secured a 4:2 win. Arp, another ex-HSV professional at Holstein Kiel, also mentioned having a different feeling and desire for such a game against his former club.
