European Sevens Championship also in Hamburg in 2024
The European Sevens Rugby Championship will also be held in Hamburg in 2024. As the German Rugby Union announced on Wednesday, the final tournament in the Olympic version of this sport will be held in the Hanseatic city from June 28 to 30. "After this first edition in 2023, which was outstanding in terms of both sport and atmosphere, it is a pleasure for us to host this European Championship tournament in Hamburg again," said Florian Hartmann, Director of Structure and Development at Rugby Germany.
As last year, the European Championship will be decided on the basis of an overall ranking from two tournaments. The first tournament will once again be played in Portugal. The 2023 title was won by the men from Ireland and the women from France.
On May 18 and 19, the German men's national sevens team will play in a Challenger tournament in Munich against strong competition for a possible place in the World Series.
