Before the commencement of the European Football Championship, 25 magnificently crafted bears were positioned at Berlin's Main Station to create a football ambiance. These figures are part of the art project "Nation Bears," and sport the colors of the nations competing in the European Football Championship. The 25th bear is the symbol of the championship, "Albert," as declared by the Senate administration. The three-meter-tall bears can be found in the Spreebogenpark, directly across from the Swiss Embassy, and therefore en route from the main station to the fan mile on the Straße des 17. Juni.

During the unveiling of the project on Thursday afternoon, Berlin's Sports Senator Iris Spranger (SPD) attended. "These bears represent diversity and the unity of European football," Spranger stated. "They not only depict the participating countries, but primarily symbolize the bond and cooperation that football fosters on a global scale." The European Football Championship is set to begin on Friday with the opening match between Germany and Scotland. On Wednesday, thousands of football enthusiasts gathered at the fan mile's unveiling.
