European elections: Voting attendance reaches 32.3% by 2 p.m.
The FEC failed to provide a comparison statistic for the 2019 election. A spokesperson mentioned that the way data was gathered has changed since then, making the numbers incompatible.
Back in 2019, the FEC revealed a voter turnout of 29.4% at 2:00 PM. Subsequently, the participation rate for the EU elections scored 61.4%, a major improvement from 48.1% five years prior.
65 million eligible voters in Germany were invited to participate in the elections from 8:00 AM, with more than four million EU citizens living in the country also eligible. Over 1,400 guys and gals from 35 parties and other organizations are vying for the positions. It's worth noting that voters aged 16 and 17 were able to partake in the European elections for the first time in Germany. The Statistical Office says this involves roughly 1.4 million individuals.
