The final results of the election to the European Parliament in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have been announced. The AfD received the most votes on June 9.

Elections - European election results in MV: AfD winner with 28.3 percent

The final result of the European election on June 9th in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern was determined by the Electoral Commission on a Wednesday. The AfD received the most votes and achieved a share of 28.3%, according to Landeswahlleiter Christian Boden. In second place, according to the information, is the CDU with 21.5%, in third place the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) with 16.4%. The SPD achieved 10.3% - fourth place. The Linke came in fifth place, according to the information, with 4.9%, the Greens received 4.8%, and the FDP 2.6%.

The voter turnout was 65.5%. 98.4% of the votes were valid. According to the Landeswahlleiter in MV, there were 1,324,296 eligible voters. Therefore, 867,622 participated. Every fourth person cast their vote by mail.

At the federal level, the CDU was the strongest force in the European election with 30.0% of the votes. They were followed by the AfD with 15.9%, and the SPD with 13.9%. The Greens received 11.9% of the votes, the BSW 6.2%, the FDP 5.2%, and the Linke 2.7%.
