European Cup defeat for Stuttgart's volleyball players
The German volleyball champions from Allianz MTV Stuttgart have missed out on a successful start to the Champions League. The team lost 2:3 (25:23, 24:26, 25:17, 23:25, 12:15) at PGE Rysice Rzeszów on Tuesday evening despite leading the set twice and has thus worsened its starting position in the group stage. In addition to Stuttgart and Rzeszów, Italian representative Imoco Volley Conegliano and Belgium's Asterix Avo are also playing in the four-team group. Conegliano won 3:0 on Tuesday evening and will visit Stuttgart next week.
Despite the defeat, Stuttgart's volleyball team still has a chance in the CEV Cup. After missing out on the Champions League, they will aim to perform well in the secondary European competition.
