For inheritances and gifts, approximately 35.7 million euros in taxes were due in Thuringia last year. This was 5.2 million euros more than in 2022, according to the State Statistical Office. Around 2,277 notices of inheritance and gift tax assessments were issued, with most of them relating to inheritances. Additionally, 343 taxable gifts were recorded. Taking into account tax exemptions and allowances, inheritances and gifts valued at approximately 181.6 million euros were the basis for the tax assessed. In 82% of the taxable estates, the inheritance was less than 100,000 euros.

The increase in inheritance and gift tax revenue to 35.7 million euros in Thuringia highlights the significance of taxation in this area. Ensuring accurate tax assessments is crucial, as evident by the issuance of 2,277 notices.
