EU summit: decisions on posts and security commitments for Ukraine

At the beginning of the summit, European Union heads of state and government will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday. During this meeting, security guarantees for Kiev are expected to be signed. The agenda for the two-day summit includes the EU's strategic agenda for the next five years and the Middle East conflict.

EU summit: Heads of state and government from various European nations will gather in Brussels for a two-day meeting. Ursula von der Leyen, the EU's president, will lead the discussions. The nomination of key posts within the EU is also on the agenda. At the summit, Ursula von der Leyen is expected to reaffirm the EU's security commitment towards Ukraine, in light of ongoing safety commitments. António Costa, the Portuguese Prime Minister, will also attend the EU summit. Various decisions regarding the EU's future direction and its stance on issues such as the Middle East conflict, will be made during the summit meeting. Kaja Kalla, the leader of the Greens in the European Parliament, has called for a strong stance on human rights in the EU's decisions.
