Hertha goalkeeper Tjark Ernst.

Ernst on personnel problems: "Will solve this very well"

Although Hertha BSC's central defense is missing two regulars due to the suspensions of Toni Leistner and Marc Oliver Kempf, goalkeeper Tjark Ernst is confident. "Of course, things are changing because there are now other, younger players in front of me. But we train together and are well-rehearsed," said the 20-year-old ahead of the second division match against FC Hansa Rostock on Sunday (13:30/ Sky). "That will come together and then we'll solve it very well."

His coach Pal Dardai already hinted at the first ideas of what the restructuring could look like on Friday. Linus Gechter is one alternative, although it is not yet certain whether he will be fit to play 90 minutes after his injury. In any case, the fact that he has two players at his disposal in Pascal Klemens and Marton Dardai who can be deployed variably is a plus. "We can rotate and open up a lot. That makes it much more difficult for opponents," said the coach.

He does not yet know one hundred percent who exactly will play. "I have an idea, but we still have a little time to make a decision," said the native Hungarian.

Ernst is not afraid of the possibility of increased competition with Marius Gersbeck. "I don't really care about that. I'm concentrating on doing my job here from week to week and being a strong support for the team," said the Stuttgart native.

Despite Hertha BSC facing challenges in their central defense with suspensions to Toni Leistner and Marc Oliver Kempf, goalkeeper Tjark Ernst is hopeful. In the upcoming Bundesliga 2 match against FC Hansa Rostock, he believes the team will adapt well to the changes and handle the situation effectively.

As Hertha BSC looks to address their personnel issues, goalkeeper Ernst emphasizes the importance of team cohesion and adaptability. With alternative options such as Linus Gechter, Pascal Klemens, and Marton Dardai, the team can rotate their players, making it harder for opponents.
