ERC Ingolstadt without striker Bailey for at least four months
ERC Ingolstadt will be without forward Casey Bailey for at least four months. The 32-year-old US-American suffered an upper body injury in the away game against the Schwenninger Wild Wings at the end of October and had to undergo surgery, as the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) club announced on Tuesday. Ingolstadt did not provide any details about the injury. "This long forced break is very bitter for Casey, and it also means we won't have an attacker available in the long term who was planned for a leading role," said sporting director Tim Regan.
ERC Ingolstadt's lack of attackers will be further emphasized during Bailey's absence, as the DEL club misses the services of their forward for at least four months due to his injury. Despite the setback, Ingolstadt's sporting director, Tim Regan, acknowledged that this long-term absence of the US-American is bitter for Bailey and limits their options in ice hockey, particularly in the offensive zone, as their top scorer in the 'DEL.'
