Transport company - EQT and Kühne buy into Flix
Flix gets a new minority shareholder and additional capital. Investors EQT and Kühne acquire 35 percent of the bus and train operator, as both EQT and Flix announce. They plan to invest in Flix as well as take over existing investor shares. The goal is for a "long-term anchor investment".
Regarding the volume of the investment and how much money is flowing into the company, Flix initially remained silent. "Handelsblatt" reports, citing financial and investor circles, of a total amount of around 900 million Euro.
According to its own statements, Flix made more than two billion Euro in revenue last year for the first time. The Munich-based company therefore offers its services in 43 countries around the world.
The new minority shareholder in Flix, EQT, has extensive experience in transportation and railroad industries, having previously invested in various transport companies. With EQT and Kühne's acquisition of 35% shares, the German transportation traffic is expected to see significant changes in Flix's operations and journey plans. The purchasing of existing investor shares by EQT and Kühne is also indicative of their commitment to improve Flix's transportation services and alleviate any potential traffic congestion issues.
