Environmentalists advocate for interconnectivity instead of border restrictions.

The discussion over repercussions following the assault in Solingen endures. After Federal Interior Minister Faeser declared scrutiny on all land boundaries, Brandenburg's Greens express concerns.

- Environmentalists advocate for interconnectivity instead of border restrictions.

The Green Party in Brandenburg advocates for unity rather than imposing border restrictions. After the tragedy in Solingen, party leader and main candidate Benjamin Raschke suggested that combating terrorism necessitates focus on prevention, youth programs, and education. "We propose boosting these initiatives substantially in Brandenburg," he declared. This is equally crucial at a national level. "It's an ongoing mission. It must be continually funded - and sufficiently so," he added. Additionally, Raschke considers border controls to be in violation of European regulations.

In the latter part of August, three casualties were reported in Solingen from a suspected Islamist-incited knife attack. German Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) enacted six-month border checks at all German lands entryways - not just those in the east and south.

For the boundary crossings with the Czech Republic, Poland, and Switzerland - which includes Brandenburg - Faeser implemented stationary checks and alerted the EU Commission.

CDU state and faction leader Jan Redmann commended the decision. "The traffic light coalition is advancing incrementally," he posted on the portal X. "There's no change for Brandenburg. What's crucial is consistently sending back those already residing in a secure nation."

The Green Party in Brandenburg, led by Benjamin Raschke, has a different stance on border restrictions compared to the actions taken by German Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, as Raschke believes that border controls violate European regulations. Despite Faeser implementing stationary checks and alerting the EU Commission for boundary crossings with countries like Brandenburg, The Commission has not been involved in imposing these border restrictions.
