Sweltering summer days are upon us in the Free State. As per a prediction by the German Meteorological Service (DMS), the 30-degree threshold will be surpassed on Friday and Saturday. By Thursday evening, the sun will make a comeback, growing stronger.

Following a chilly night with temperatures near zero, Friday will be all sunshine. Areas in Franconia will see temperatures of 26 degrees, while Munich will reach 31 degrees, offering warmth across the board. Saturday will be sunny as well, but even hotter: the DMS forecasts 29 degrees in the Franconian Forest and a potential 34 degrees in Lower Franconia. From the afternoon onwards, there may be isolated thunderstorms in the Alps. According to the DMS, rain, clouds, and thunderstorms will approach from the west by nightfall.

Sunday will see more rain, with strong thunderstorms and gusty winds anticipated in the southeast. Temperatures will range from 20 to 27 degrees, making it milder once more.

The sweltering weather conditions continue, as anticipated, with Munich reaching 31 degrees on Friday. Furthermore, the forecast for Saturday indicates even higher temperatures, potentially reaching 34 degrees in Lower Franconia.
