The health department of Vorpommern-Greifswald district has ended the water-boiling advisory in Bandelin. "The tap water is now safe to consume following prompt measures taken. Recent tests indicate that the water is free from any bacterial issues," the district announced.

A few days ago, bacteria were detected during a water quality check. The affected localities included Bandelin, Kammin, Kuntzow, Schmoldow, Stresow, and Stresow-Siedlung. The origin of the contamination remains a mystery, but deliberate interference has been ruled out.

After successfully addressing the water contamination issue, the district of Vorpommern-Grieifswald expanded its safe water declaration beyond Bandelin, making the tap water in Kammin, Kuntzow, Schmoldow, Stresow, and Stresow-Siedlung safe to consume as well. This positive development in the district of Vorpommern-Vorpommern-Grieifswald is expected to bring relief to its residents.
