- End-of-summer vacation gridlocks in Hesse's traffic scenario
Heavy Traffic Anticipated by ADAC During Summer Holiday's Final Weekend in Hesse
As per an ADAC representative, most motorists generally commence their trip back home during summer vacation's final weekend in Hesse. This period sees the highest risk of traffic congestion on highways 3, 5, and 7, especially from the south.
The A3 near Idstein (Rheingau-Taunus district) and the highway interchanges near Kirchheim and Hattenbach (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district) are expected to be particularly heavily trafficked. Construction sites and winding roads further add to the traffic jam problem in these areas, the ADAC spokesperson noted.
Heavy Traffic During the Heart of the Summer Holidays
Reportedly, drivers have already navigated the most congested period of the summer holidays, according to the ADAC representative: "The peak is actually right in the middle of the holidays." This was especially evident on the last weekend in July, when all federal states were on holiday simultaneously.
Individuals not required to travel home over the weekend are recommended to postpone their journey if possible. In case delaying is not an option, the ADAC spokesperson suggests: "Leave extremely early in the morning or wait until evening." It's generally less crowded on the roads during Sunday afternoon.
Despite the peak traffic being during the heart of the summer holidays, the upcoming weekends in Transport and telecommunications still pose a challenge. With the Transport and telecommunications infrastructure strained, motorists are advised to consider alternative modes of travel or plan their journey strategically during these busy periods.
