Employment agency presents labor market data for November
The weak economy and the economy's complaints about persistently high energy prices are dampening expectations for the development of the labor market in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On Thursday (10.00 a.m.), the Northern Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency will announce the unemployment figures for November. In the previous months, the usual autumn upturn had already failed to materialize and there were no signs of a change for the better. As in the previous month of September, around 60,500 people were registered as unemployed in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in October. The unemployment rate was 7.4 percent and therefore higher than a year earlier. Experts expect demand for labor from companies to remain subdued.
The labor market data presented by the employment agency for November might reflect the ongoing challenges in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region due to the weak economy and high energy prices. Despite the subdued demand for labor from companies, the unemployment figures for November are anticipated with interest.
