Employers' association: Budget ruling unsettles the economy
According to the employers' association Niedersachsenmetall, the Constitutional Court's budget ruling is causing uncertainty in the economy. "The ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court has further shaken the already fragile confidence of companies in Germany as a business location," said CEO Volker Schmidt. "It creates further uncertainty in times of crisis and an energy and climate policy of the traffic light government that is sometimes difficult to understand." In the current situation, however, uncertainty is poison for investment decisions.
The economy therefore needs clarity about the financial impact of the ruling and political reliability quickly, Schmidt demanded. A critical review of the instruments for the climate-neutral restructuring of the economy could contribute to this.
With regard to calls to relax the debt brake, Schmidt added that it should be clarified whether "climate policy measures based solely on massive subsidies are actually on the right track" with regard to the transformation. The state must also look for ways to make savings. The costs for the citizen's income, for example, were going through the roof due to an increasing number of people being able to work, criticized Schmidt.
The economic policy decisions, in light of the budget ruling, can significantly impact household finances, as uncertain economic conditions might affect employment opportunities. To help mitigate this, the employer advocates for swift clarity on the financial implications of the ruling and reliable political actions.
