Berchtesgadener Land - Emergency services rescue hypothermic student on the Watzmann
Emergency services have rescued a hypothermic 22-year-old near Schönau am Königssee ( Berchtesgadener Land district) from distress in the mountains. As the Bavarian Red Cross announced on Friday, the student was disoriented in knee-deep snow and was completely frozen through. He had also lost a shoe. A helicopter was able to quickly find the young man, who wanted to climb from Sankt Bartholomä to the ice chapel on the Watzmann east face, on Thursday. The water rescue service and the mountain rescue service were also deployed to assist.
