Second-tier football club SV Elversberg and striker Dominik Martinovic have parted ways effective immediately. The 27-year-old has joined Croatian top-flight club NK Slaven Belupo, as announced by the SVE.

The contract, originally set to expire next summer, has been terminated, the club confirmed. No details were provided on the buyout terms.

Martinovic joined SV Elversberg from SV Waldhof Mannheim last year. In the previous second-tier season, he played in 20 games, starting in two. "Dominik was hoping for more playing time, he now has a new perspective," said SVE's sporting director Ole Book.

Martinovic's departure from SV Elversberg has opened up opportunities in his homeland, as he has signed with Croatian club NK Slaven Belupo. Despite having one more year left on his contract with Elversberg, the Saarland-based club agreed to terminate it early.
