Musk's departure from OpenAI was heartfelt
Musk was a prime mover in the conception of OpenAI in 2015. He interpreted the institution as a pushback to the AI research taking place at Google, which he criticized for neglecting AI risks. Nonetheless, three years down the line, friction surrounding OpenAI's administration led Musk to part ways.
Toward spring, Musk filed legal claims against OpenAI. In this lawsuit, he maintained that OpenAI was designed to be a non-profit association. But he asserted that ChatGPT's developer, an associate of Microsoft, had evolved to a profit-oriented appendage of that corporation.
Musk submitted the suit shortly after a disputatious episode at OpenAI. In November, without preceding alert, the OpenAI board dismissed co-founder Sam Altman. In a remarkably short time, Altman won the squabble, gleaned assistance from Microsoft, and reclaimed his spot within the company.
Elon Musk scolds Apple's alliance with OpenAI
