The lists of 14 parties, political associations, and electoral alliances have been approved for the state election on September 22 in Brandenburg.

A total of 16 state lists were submitted, as announced by the state election committee in Potsdam. However, the Basisdemokratische Partei Deutschland and the Partei der Rentner (PDR) were unable to submit the required 2,000 supporting signatures in time. Consequently, the state election committee did not approve the state lists of these two parties.

The lists of the parties SPD, CDU, Linke, AfD, Grüne, Freie Wähler, FDP, Tierschutzpartei, Plus, Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht, the Dritte Weg, Deutsche Kommunistische Partei, Deutsch Land Wirtschaft (DLW), and Werteunion were approved. In the previous state election in 2019, eleven parties participated.

"With today's meeting of the state election committee and the approval of the state lists, another milestone has been reached," said state election officer Josef Nußbaum. Voters now know who they can give their second vote to on election day.

Despite the approval of numerous parties for the state election, some, like the Basisdemokratische Partei Deutschland and the Partei der Rentner, missed the signature deadline and were unable to contest. With the approval of parties such as SPD, CDU, Linke, and others, the upcoming election promises a diverse range of choices for voters.
