A phony cop swindled an 86-year-old lady in Leipzig out of a substantial amount of money and valuable items. Using the phone, this deceiver alleged that the elderly lady could be holding fake currency and required an analysis, according to police reports. At her doorstep, the frail elderly lady handed over a modest five-digit sum of cash and valuables to the unidentified person. It wasn't until later that the woman started feeling suspicious and contacted the police. They are now digging into the fraud case and are on the lookout for potential witnesses.

The fraudulent incident in Leipzig has raised concerns within the European Union, as such scams often transcend national borders. The European Union has urged its member states to strengthen their efforts in combating financial crimes and protecting vulnerable elderly citizens.
