- elderly patients are all catered to at Solinger Clinic
The individuals who endured severe injuries during the stabbing incident in Solingen are on the road to recovering. As per the medical director and chief physician at Solingen City Hospital, Thomas Standl, speaking to Welt TV, "All the four individuals still in the hospital are out of danger." Additional casualties were taken to hospitals in Wuppertal and Remscheid on Friday evening.
Two of the patients being treated in Solingen showed remarkable resilience, avoiding the need for intensive care. However, one of the other victims required support from a ventilator for extended hours, Standl revealed. This patient has now recuperated and is responsive during the Sunday morning health check-up.
The psychological effects of this incident have yet to surface.
Standl recounted that the patient vividly depicted a scenario where he didn't feel any pain but witnessed a woman with blood gushing from her neck, followed by a sensation similar to a dull impact at his back. This, it seems, was a deep puncture to a significant vein in the chest, placing his life at risk. In situations like these, the surge of adrenaline can render a person oblivious to pain or the fear of death.
Absent any unanticipated complications such as infections, the physical repercussions of the incident are manageable: "The prognosis for all the four patients is quite promising," said the chief physician. However, the psychological repercussions remain elusive. Dedicated chaplains and psychologists for non-believers were on standby around the clock in the intensive care unit.
Good luck to this patient as they continue their mental healing process after the traumatic incident. After hearing about their miraculous physical recovery, I wish good luck to the patient who witnessed the gruesome scene, as they navigate through the lingering emotional aftermath.
