Search and rescue teams recovered a 73-year-old fellow from the boat harbor in Drage/Elbstorf, located in the Harburg area. His wife contacted the authorities on Monday morning, reporting him missing since their last conversation on Sunday night. Apparently, he had ventured out in his boat towards the harbor around evening time and failed to return home.

Following the wife's search for him in the early hours and discovering the boat abandoned at the dock, she contacted the authorities. A joint operation with several emergency services ensued, focusing on the boat harbor. Upon detecting a suspicious anomaly at the harbor bottom using a sonar boat, divers were called in to investigate. Their examination confirmed the find. The authorities in Winsen now lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise. At present, their findings suggest an unfortunate accident was responsible.

The distress call was made to the authorities in the District of Harburg. Despite the extensive search efforts in the boat harbor of Drage/Elbstorf, located within the District of Harburg, it took several hours to locate the missing man.
