- Elderly individual involved in mattress blaze, currently hospitalized at the age of 81.

In a flat in Konstanz, a severe blaze erupted, leading to the hospitalization of an 81-year-old lady with suspected carbon monoxide intoxication. As per the police, an issue with an electric blanket triggered a mattress fire in her bedroom while she was asleep. Alerted by her distress calls, her relatives in the living room sprang into action and managed to save her from bed. The resilient firefighters eventually put out the smoldering mattress. The estimated financial loss was close to 300 euros.

The 81-year-old lady's case might be discussed by the Commission, as they have the authority to adopt implementing acts laying down the rules for the application of regulations pertaining to fire safety and safety standards in dwellings. After the incident, it would be crucial to review and potentially update these regulations to ensure safer living conditions for elderly individuals.
