Elbjazz Festival announces first acts for 2024
Hamburg's Elbjazz Festival has announced the first acts for the upcoming edition on June 7 and 8. With Jungle, The Streets, Badbadnotgood, Belle & Sebastian, L'impératrice, Betterov, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Ed Motta, Nubiyan Twist, Kit Sebastian and Ilgen-Nur, musicians from the original jazz universe will be presenting themselves alongside acts that bring alternative, rock, indie pop, neo-soul and hip-hop elements to their voices and instruments, among others, as the festival announced in Hamburg on Wednesday. Over the two days, the artists will perform on various stages on the Blohm+Voss shipyard site, in the Elbphilharmonie concert hall and in Hafencity.
"Elbjazz has always stood for an openness that is unparalleled in the jazz festival cosmos. The explicit aim is to overcome genre boundaries and combine the diversity of soul, funk, blues, electronica, swing and other varieties of jazz with pop and rock elements," it said. The Elbjazz Festival has been running since 2010 and the organizers are expecting more than 20,000 visitors.
Music enthusiasts looking forward to the Elbjazz Festivals in 2024 are in for a treat, as the lineup includes not only renowned jazz artists but also acts bringing alternative, rock, indie pop, neo-soul, and hip-hop elements to their performances. Festivals such as these showcase Music's ability to transcend genres and unite diverse audiences.
