Handball - Eisenach signs Estonian Patrail: Heitkamp to Minden

Promoted ThSV Eisenach has made further personnel additions to stabilize its defence. The Bundesliga handball club has signed the experienced Estonian Mait Patrail, who already played in the 24:26 defeat in Lemgo on Thursday evening. The 35-year-old backcourt player has signed a contract until the end of the season. Patrail has already played in the Bundesliga for Lemgo, Hannover-Burgdorf and the Rhein-Neckar Löwen.

Meanwhile, U21 world champion Niclas Heitkamp is on loan to second division club GWD Minden. The Eisenach club announced that the backcourt player will receive more playing time and develop his skills.

The Thuringians, who started the season as the clear underdogs, suffered their seventh defeat in a row in Lemgo. After a good start to the season, ThSV now occupy penultimate place with three wins and one draw from 15 games. However, they are only two points behind 16th place, which is enough to keep them in the league.
