Eintracht women only draw against Leverkusen
Despite a brace from international Nicole Anyomi, Eintracht Frankfurt's women's soccer team missed out on a winning dress rehearsal for the start of the Champions League group stage. The Hessians only managed a 2:2 (1:1) draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday evening and remain fifth in the Bundesliga for the time being with 11 points.
Synne Skinnes Hansen put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute. Anyomi (19th/66th) initially turned the tide for Frankfurt with her goals, who had to concede an equalizer through Estrella Merino Gonzalez (88th) shortly before the end. Next Tuesday, Eintracht will face Swedish record champions FC Rosengård in their first group match in the top flight.
Despite the draw, Eintracht Frankfurt's women's Bundesliga team aims to utilize their momentum for their upcoming Champions League match against FC Rosengård. Regardless of the result, Frankfurter Frauen's Bundesliga position remains unchanged, as they continue to battle in the fifth spot.
