Bundesliga - Eintracht in Leverkusen with Trapp: Dina Ebimbe questionable

Eintracht Frankfurt is going into the Bundesliga match at Bayer 04 Leverkusen with respect, but also a lot of anticipation. "We're up against the best team in Germany at the moment. It will be a challenging game that we are all looking forward to," said Eintracht coach Dino Toppmöller ahead of the match on Sunday (17:30/DAZN).

He knows that his team will only be able to spring a surprise on the unbeaten leaders if they perform at their best and have a little bit of luck. "We're up against an opponent who is playing an outstanding Bundesliga season. But we showed against Bayern that we can hold our own against such teams," said Toppmöller. "It's going to be a huge board that we have to drill."

Despite the disappointment after the 2-0 defeat in the Conference League at FC Aberdeen, the Hessians will go into the game with a broad chest. "We know what happened against Bayern last week. I think we can do something. But for that we need a top mentality and aggression. Leverkusen are the measure of all things at the moment," said Toppmöller.

Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe's participation is questionable. The 23-year-old had to come off the field injured early on in Aberdeen. As the club announced on Friday, the attacking player suffered a sprain to the sole of his left foot. Things look better for Kevin Trapp. The national goalkeeper was also substituted early in Aberdeen due to back pain. He is feeling better again. Nothing should stand in the way of him playing.

Fares Chaibi, who fell ill at short notice in Scotland, could also return to the starting eleven and replace the suspended Omar Marmoush in the center of attack. "He doesn't look like he's in full bloom yet. But if he feels good, he'll be in the starting line-up," Toppmöller said of Chaibi. The Eintracht coach is also hoping for the return of Ellyes Skhiri, who could at least take a place on the bench after recovering from injury.
