German top-flight football league - Eintracht Frankfurt faces hefty penalties due to crowd unrest.

Eintracht Frankfurt is facing a hefty fine from the Sports Court of the German Football Association (DFB) in connection with the violent incidents that occurred during a Bundesliga home game against VfB Stuttgart approximately six months ago. The club is required to pay 250,000 euros, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.

During the November match, there were serious confrontations between Eintracht fans and law enforcement and security personnel. The report from the DFB indicates that fans from Frankfurt partially attacked the police using construction and barrier fences and wielded objects as percussion instruments. Over 200 individuals sustained injuries.

The DFB noted that Eintracht had identified numerous perpetrators following the game, named them to the Sports Court, and initiated and completed the majority of stadium ban procedures against 45 people. This factored into the decision to reduce the requested fine of 500,000 euros from the Control Committee of the DFB.
