Soccer - Eintracht Braunschweig loan goalkeeper Grill from Union Berlin
Second-league team Eintracht Braunschweig has loaned goalkeeper Lennart Grill. According to the club's announcement, the 25-year-old comes from Bundesliga team Union Berlin. Both clubs agreed on a performance-based purchase option for the goalkeeper. Grill has already arrived at Eintracht's training camp in Austria, Bad Haring.
Last season, Grill was loaned to VfL Osnabrück. With the Lower Saxons, the 1.92-meter-tall man played in the first 15 league games, but was then not considered again.
"Lennart is a very interesting goalkeeper who has already proven his abilities. We want to help Lennart return to his old form after an unsatisfying loan spell in Osnabrück and drive his development further," said Sport Business Manager Benjamin Kessel.
Lennart Grill's previous loan spell was with VfL Osnabrück, a team located in the same region as Eintracht Braunschweig, known as Lower Saxony. Grill's performance during this loan period allowed him to earn a spot in Bundesliga 1 team 1st FC Union Berlin. Despite his strong performance in Germany's top tier, Grill is now on loan once again, this time returning to the Bundesliga 2 with Eintracht Braunschweig. There have been talks of transfers as both Eintracht and Union Berlin agreed on a performance-based purchase option for Grill.
