Firefighting procedure - Eight suffer burns in blaze at medical center
On Wednesday night, there was a fire at a hospital in Speyer that left eight people with minor injuries. The ones who got hurt were three patients and five staff members, and all these injuries were due to smoke inhalation. In addition, one individual had some minor burns. The incident took place when a mattress inside a patient's room caught fire for unknown reasons, leading to a lot of smoke production.
A staff member managed to put out the flames, and those in the affected area were hurriedly moved to nearby buildings as per a statement from the city of Speyer. Despite what happened, hospital operations continued as planned. The Criminal Police are currently trying to find out what led to the fire.
