A police unit in Upper Palatinate stumbled upon a longboard being used by a young fellow, who was cruising uphill at around 30 kilometers per hour. On a Sunday night, officers in Bad Kötzting (Cham district) uncovered that this longboard had an integrated motor, capable of hitting speeds up to 50 km/h, as per the police report. Generally speaking, longboards are longer than skateboards and taper at both ends.

From a legal standpoint, the roughly 18-year-old operator of the modified longboard should have held a class B driver's license, according to a police spokesperson. Regrettably, the driver lacked a valid license.

The longboard, however, due to its motor, would have needed official registration. Predictably, this isn't possible for a longboard, the spokesperson clarified. Consequently, the driver is now facing numerous charges, and the longboard has been confiscated by the authorities.

The authorities noted that the confiscated longboard fell under the category of 'Transport and telecommunications', as it was motorized. Due to this modification, it required proper registration and a valid license, which were both absent.
