German professional football league - Eberl on Kompany as an "engaging tale" as the new coach.

Vincent Kompany is now officially the head coach of FC Bayern Munich and their sporting director, Max Eberl, is thrilled to have put an end to the search for a new coach. Eberl referred to Kompany as "an absolute win and an exciting story that we want to write now." The 38-year-old Belgian will make his first appearance as Bayern's coach at the Allianz Arena. "Anyone who comes into contact with him from now on will realize what an incredible person he is," said Eberl.

Kompany made the switch from relegated FC Burnley to Bayern and signed a contract that will last until June 30, 2027. His former team extended their best wishes to him for his new job at Bayern. "After we initially believed that we could keep our coach, the changing dynamics of the situation made it impossible," shared the English second division club.

Rumors suggest that Bayern paid a release fee of ten to twelve million euros to secure Kompany's services. This concludes a somewhat tumultuous search for a new head coach. Initially, Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick were all preferred candidates, but each of them dropped out. Bayern's efforts to cancel the contract termination with Thomas Tuchel, which had been agreed upon in February, also fell through.

Eberl disclosed that he had lengthy discussions with Kompany about the squad, ideas, and playing style. They found common ground quickly. Sporting director, Christoph Freund, added that "the talks were very pleasant." Kompany's football style aligns seamlessly with Bayern.

Here's what Vincent Kompany has to say:

"FC Bayern is an institution for me. But what excites me the most are the small things - the work with the players, the work with the people in this building. Creating a team culture is what I'm most excited about. I don't think you have to make it more complicated."

Here's what Vincent Kompany's football will be like:

Sporting director, Christoph Freund, promises that under Kompany's guidance, the Bayern team will play "an offensive football, a dominant football, an intense football." Kompany himself remarked, "I grew up in the streets of Brussels, we love the ball, we are creative. I like players who are brave with the ball."

What's next for Bayern?

Bayern's training will commence on July 15, the day after the European Championship final. The Munichers have planned an Asian tour as part of their preparations for the upcoming season. It's expected that a major squad overhaul will take place, with Eberl and Freund looking to revamp the team. The previous season's defense in particular left much to be desired. "He will greatly contribute to our team," said sports director Freund about the newcomer Kompany.
