A car driver has hit an e-scooter driven by three children in Berlin-Mitte. In the collision, a twelve-year-old child suffered a broken bone and injuries to his upper body, as the police reported on Saturday. He was operated on in a hospital and remained there as an inpatient. The other two children reportedly ran away before the emergency services arrived.

According to the report, the three children had driven their scooter onto Torstraße on Friday evening. The 28-year-old driver was unable to prevent the collision despite braking hard and trying to avoid the car. He and two other first aiders helped the injured twelve-year-old boy.
