Daimler Truck, a commercial vehicle company, intends to assist its clients with building electric charging stations more thoroughly in the future. All infrastructure and electric truck charging initiatives will fall under the Truckcharge brand, Daimler Truck revealed on Tuesday. This is aimed at not just logistic companies but also industrial enterprises with or without their own truck fleet. The identity of the company manufacturing the electric vehicles used by these businesses is immaterial.

Daimler Truck's CEO, Karin Rådstrom, stated, "We aim to provide holistic guidance to our customers. This is a significant transformation for them. It's not just about purchasing new vehicles." Truck loading stations have to be erected and managed on depots. Logistics professionals should also be advised on transport restructuring and assisted with route planning. Moreover, connections with network operators or help with financial assistance should be provided. "Some clients might only require charging stations and handle everything else on their own. Others may demand significant assistance," Rådstrom explained.

The establishment of charging infrastructure, particularly the construction of charging parks, is currently a significant bottleneck in the electrification of heavy-duty transportation. "Progress is picking up pace, but the problem is that it's still too slow," Rådstrom asserted. Across Europe, 400 new electric truck charging stations must be built each month to advance the electrification process in line with the company's CO2 goals. Despite this, this objective remains unmet.

At Daimler Truck, the shift to electric engines is in full gear. The eActros 600 truck, produced by the company, will enter serial production by the end of 2024. This truck can travel 500 kilometers before requiring a recharge. In April, Daimler Truck unveiled a breakthrough in fast charging of electric trucks. The company has also been collaborating with competitors Volvo and Traton for an extended period to construct and run high-performing charging stations at highways and junctions.

Daimler, the parent company of Daimler Truck, is also heavily involved in vehicle construction, with a strong presence in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Daimler Truck's expansion plans include not only the development of electric vehicle technology but also the establishment of comprehensive traffic management solutions. In Stuttgart, Germany, Daimler Truck is working on improving transportation infrastructure by constructing more electric vehicle charging stations. The company's long-term vision is to make Germany a leader in sustainable transportation, contributing to the country's future growth. The establishment of charging infrastructure in Traffic, particularly in the form of charging parks, will play a significant role in achieving this goal, as it will help in the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in heavy-duty transportation.
