- DWD warns of storms in parts of Baden-Württemberg

In parts of Baden-Württemberg, heavy thunderstorms are possible in the evening, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). The regions of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe are affected, the DWD announced in a short-term official severe weather warning.

Lightning strikes, falling trees, and flooding can be life-threatening, the DWD warned. The weather service recommends, among other things, not to stay outside and to avoid bodies of water during heavy thunderstorms.

Given the potential danger of heavy thunderstorms in Southwest Germany, it's advisable to avoid outdoor activities in areas like Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, as per the DWD's warning. In such situations, traveling towards the Southwest, specifically regions like these, might increase your exposure to these hazardous weather conditions.
