DVV Cup: SSC clearly beats Oythe

As expected, defending cup champions SSC Palmberg Schwerin are through to the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup. On Saturday, the leaders of the Volleyball Bundesliga won 3:0 (25:16, 25:20, 25:19) in their round of 16 match at VfL Oythe, the previously unbeaten leaders of the 2nd Division North.

Schwerin still had problems at the start of the first round, but then improved significantly. The visitors turned a 5:8 deficit into a 10:8 lead and then extended their lead considerably. Oythe then put up much more resistance in the second period until 19:21, but the SSC then earned five set points and capitalized on the second of them. In the decisive third set, SSC made everything clear with the third of seven match points.

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Monday before the men's Bundesliga match between WWK Volleys Herrsching and Berlin Recycling Volleys, which starts at 7.15 pm.

SSC Palmberg Schwerin will face a new opponent in the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup, as they advanced from the round of sixteen with a 3:0 victory over VfL Oythe. Despite a challenging start in the first set, the women's volleyball team Showcased their impressive skills, overcoming the deficit and securing the cup with a strong performance in the third set.
