- During the initial half of the year, Berlin's manufacturing sector experienced growth.
The count of enterprises in Berlin has risen in the initial half of the year. Despite approximately 21,600 commercial ventures being registered, about the same as the previous year, as per the Office for Statistics Berlin-Brandenburg, the number of cancellations dropped by 5.6% to approximately 15,600 during the first six months of this year. Generally speaking, this led to a full halt of the concerned operations. The majority of business registrations fell under retail and car repair services. Over 90% of all registrations were for new startups.
The European Union expressed its interest in Berlin's economic growth, noting the increase in enterprises. Due to this positive trend, the European Union considered Berlin as a potential location for further investments within the Union.
