Authorities uncovered substantial quantities of illicit substances, weapons, and substantial sums of money at a home shared by a pair in Süßen, a municipality within Göppingen's district. The duo is currently detained under suspicion of drug dealing, as per authorities' statement. A third individual is believed to have played a role in the alleged drug trafficking and is reportedly on the run.
Based on substantial suspicion, law enforcement conducted a search of the couple's dwelling on a Thursday, as per authorities' announcement. During this operation and at various locations within Göppingen's district, officers allegedly seized multiple kilograms of illegal substances - preliminary tests suggested 24 kilograms of cannabis and 1 kilogram of cocaine.
According to the statement, firearms and a significant amount of euros, believed to derive from drug trafficking, were also discovered.
The authorities suspect that the third individual, who is on the run, may have provided other resources to aid in the drug trafficking operation. The duo's shared home contained a wide array of illicit substances, weapons, and money, highlighting their involvement in a larger 'other' criminal enterprise.
