Life-threatening action - Duo balances on metal poles over river - police operation
A Girl and a Boy sneaked into a construction site in Augsburg and put themselves in danger. The 14-year-old and the 13-year-old first removed barrier fences, as a police spokesperson stated. On the construction site, they then balanced on wider metal beams over the Lech River. If they had fallen into the river, they would have been sucked into the running turbines of a power plant according to the police.
After the alarm about the intruders had come in, the police shut down the turbines, as it continued. The youth and the child were then handed over to their parents. The 14-year-old has to account for the damage to the property and trespassing. The 13-year-old is juvenile and therefore not subject to punishment.
The incident occurred in the Swabia region, specifically in Augsburg. The police operation to retrieve the children involved shutting down a nearby power plant's turbines due to safety concerns. The children had been exploring a construction site, using a metal rod to balance on wider beams over the Lech River, potentially risking a fall into the rushing waters and the turbines below.
