Dua Lipa: I'm proud of my next work
After the hype surrounding her hit single "Houdini", which was praised by fans and critics alike, pop star Dua Lipa can hardly wait to release more new music soon. "My next work is definitely the one I'm most proud of," the 28-year-old told the German Press Agency in London. "And I'm just looking forward to sharing it with my fans soon." The British singer's third studio album is expected next year.
Her last work "Future Nostalgia" made it to the top of the British charts and won a Grammy and a Brit Award. Nevertheless, Dua Lipa doesn't feel too much pressure ahead of the release of new music. "There's always a bit of pressure when you have a new project, especially if it's a bit different to what you've done before," she said. "I feel very confident at this point in my career and have the confidence to say exactly what I want to say with my music. It takes a bit of the pressure off me."
Collaboration with Kevin Parker
For the new songs, she worked with Australian indie star Kevin Parker aka Tame Impala ("The Less I Know The Better"), among others, to take a slightly different musical direction. "I felt like I had been longing to work with Kevin for a long time," said the singer, who became internationally famous in 2015 with the song "Be The One". "When we were actually in the studio together, everything just fell into place for us."
In addition to Parker, Canadian Grammy winner Tobias Jesso Jr, Norwegian songwriter Caroline Ailin and British music producer Danny Harle were involved in the work. "It felt like we were creating this album like a band," enthused Dua Lipa. "That gave the whole album an incredible energy."
Dua Lipa's collaboration with Kevin Parker on her new music has resulted in a slightly different musical direction, combining pop and indie sounds. Many people are eagerly anticipating this new musical exploration from the Grammy and Brit Award-winning artist.
Dua Lipa's upcoming music project, influenced by the collaboration with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, promises to resonate with the masses, as pop music lovers and indie enthusiasts alike might find something appealing in her latest songs.
