Drunk driver drives onto tracks - train service interrupted
A drunk driver drove off the road at a level crossing in Wiesbaden and ended up in the track bed. Train traffic had to be stopped on Friday evening, which caused considerable delays, as the police reported on Sunday. A towing service had to pull the car off the tracks. An alcohol test revealed that the driver had a blood alcohol level of almost 0.9 per mille. His driver's license was confiscated.
The incident on Friday evening disrupted traffic on the RHEIN-MAIN line, as the drunk driver's accident involved the train tracks in Wiesbaden. Due to the high alcohol level in his system, the driver's reckless actions resulted in significant delays and the suspension of his driving privileges.
