A drunk driver provided a pursuit on the Autobahn 8 from Ulm to Munich, covering nearly 120 kilometers, according to a police spokesperson on Saturday. The 37-year-old had collided with another car initially near Ulm, the spokesperson added. No one was injured in the accident that occurred on Friday.

However, when it came to exchanging information, the man drove off - with a dog on board.

Shortly thereafter, his car was discovered by the police. During the ensuing chase, the 37-year-old reportedly drove at times over 200 kilometers per hour and overtook other vehicles on the shoulder as well. Additionally, he allegedly had his Husky on his lap. The man caused damage to several other vehicles in the vicinity of Augsburg but continued his journey. No injuries were reported initially. It remains to be seen if there were any light injuries.

The man finally stopped his car on the Autobahn 99 in Munich. A large contingent of patrol cars and a police helicopter were deployed to apprehend him. A breathalyzer test revealed that he was heavily intoxicated. Furthermore, his car was not roadworthy.
