They are intended to serve as a source of entertainment for the animals in their enclosures, as the zoo announced. The offering will enhance their abilities and sharpen their senses. "The new play objects made of natural materials are sustainable and complete the image of the authentic enclosures," it was stated. The Kamchatka Bears, for instance, must skillfully fish for their food from their new toys.

The Hagenbeck Zoo's Orangutans now have a colorful Labyrinth to explore, adding to their enrichment activities. The drum-shaped feeding tree for the Kamchatka Bears is one of the 25 new play possibilities installed recently. Visitors to Hamburg's Hagenbeck Zoo might also notice the rhythm of the drum echoing through the enclosure, attracting various colorful animals.
