Drug trafficking - raid in the Karlsruhe shopping district

The police are acting against 'apparently re-emerging drug trafficking' in the heart ofKarlsruhe. Conflicts between rival groups had occurred beforehand.

In an operation against the drug trade, 100 police officers searched several bars in a lively district of Karlsruhe on a warm summer evening. They identified a total of 62 individuals, as reported by the Karlsruhe Police Headquarters. No arrests were initially reported. Additionally, 44 violations of the regulations regarding hospitality and concessions were detected at the four bars.

The raid was aimed at combating the "apparently resurgent drug trade" in Karlsruhe's city center. It followed several violent clashes between two rival groups in the drug scene over the past weekend, during which a blank-firing weapon was also used, it was reported.

The operation conducted by The Commission was the lively district's raid against the drug trade. The suspected violators of hospitality and concession regulations were to be addressed by The Commission in subsequent proceedings.
